CS2 anti-cheat plugin
The official Counter-Strike 2 package for dedicated servers — ImpactGuard modules, the native addon, and VisionGate map data in one zip.
Community CS2 servers do not get Valve’s official client anti-cheat. If you run a dedicated box, Pterodactyl node, or a small network of 5v5 servers, you need something that lives on the server, reports to a panel, and does not kick on a single noisy signal.
ImpactGuard’s CS2 plugin is a CounterStrikeSharp assembly plus a native Metamod addon. The public zip also includes VisionGate map data used by the visibility filter. Download it from the homepage download block or from Plugin Manager after you sign in.
What you need first
- A CS2 dedicated server on Windows or Linux.
- Metamod:Source 2.x installed and listed by
meta list. - CounterStrikeSharp 1.0.368 or newer. Newer CSS builds that require a newer .NET runtime are not the compatibility target we ship against.
- An ImpactGuard account and a license key in the form
IG-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX.
Install sequence
- Create a free account at the panel and copy the license.
- Download the latest CS2 zip. Extract it at the server root (the directory that contains
game/). - Put the license in
Panel.json(or the path shown in client docs). - Restart the server. Confirm ImpactGuard and the VisionGate addon appear in
meta list. - Run
igvg_statusafter a map load. If VisionGate is quiet, the visibility filter is not active even if detections are. - Watch the panel. Heartbeats land about every 60 seconds. Compatible config overrides sync in about two minutes.
Shipped CS2 defaults are conservative: multiple detections, unique modules, threat score 25, kick confidence 0.72, ban confidence 0.86. Start in log-first, then tighten from configuration docs.
What the plugin is not
It is not a client-side overlay and it does not replace VAC on official matchmaking. VisionGate hides occluded players from the snapshot; it does not “detect wallhacks” by itself. Detection lives in the 52 CS2 modules. Visibility is a separate control — see VisionGate.
After install
Register the server in the panel, keep the license reachable, and share appeals with your admins. If you also run GoldSrc, use the same key on CS 1.6 instead of buying a second product.

Where do I extract the CS2 zip?
At the CS2 server root — the folder that contains game/. Do not extract inside game/csgo/.
Which CounterStrikeSharp version is required?
CounterStrikeSharp 1.0.368 or newer, plus Metamod:Source 2.x.
Does the same license work on CS 1.6?
Yes. One ImpactGuard license key covers CS2 and CS 1.6 within your plan’s server slots.
